Dr Jia Hui Lee

Dr Jia Hui Lee is a highly skilled ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon, and fellowship-trained medical retina specialist, with a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. She is particularly known for her expertise in cataract surgery and the management of retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, and diabetic retinopathy.

 

Dr Lee completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery with first class honours at Monash University in Melbourne. She was the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships during her medical school training, including the Clinical Dean’s Excellence Award at Monash Health. After completing her internship and surgical residency at Alfred Health, Dr Lee undertook her ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) in Melbourne. She went on to pursue further subspecialty fellowship training in the field of medical retina at RVEEH. 

 

Dr Lee has published several research articles in the field of retina and ophthalmology in international peer-reviewed journals, and she was the recipient of the Hector Maclean Research Scholarship from the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Eye Research Australia. 

 

Dr Lee is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. She holds public appointments at RVEEH, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Austin Hospital, and is actively involved in teaching and training medical students and ophthalmology trainees. 

 

Dr Lee is passionate about providing high quality and holistic patient-centered care. She is fluent in Mandarin and basic Cantonese, which enables her to provide care to patients from a diverse range of backgrounds.
